teamLab Planets: Tickets, Hours & the 2027 Question
teamLab Planets in Toyosu is the teamLab venue you walk through barefoot, through water and across soft ground. It's also the one people are anxious about, because its published run ends in 2027. This guide covers what a ticket costs, when it's open, how booking works — and what the official site does and does not actually say about that end date.

About That 2027 End Date
This is the part worth being precise about, because it's easy to find secondhand claims that overstate it.
What the official site says: under Venue Details, the Term is listed as "July 7, 2018 – End of 2027."
What the official site does not say: there is no announcement of a closure. No "closing," no "final year," no "last chance," no farewell notice, and no specific final date. The end of 2027 appears only as the closing bound of the museum's published run.
So the accurate reading is this: the end of 2027 is the end of the period teamLab has published for this venue — not a confirmed closing day. A published run can be extended, shortened, or replaced by a new announcement, and no final date has been made public.
What that means for planning: if visiting matters to you, treating 2027 as the last reliable year is sensible. Treating any particular date in 2027 as your deadline is not — that date hasn't been published. Check the official site before you build a trip around it.
What a Ticket Costs
Adult admission (18 and over) starts at ¥3,600, under a variable pricing system, so the exact figure depends on the date and time slot you select. Everyone else pays a fixed price: ¥2,800 for junior high and high school students, ¥1,500 for ages 4–12, free for age 3 and under, and ¥1,800 for a disability certificate holder. You may be asked to show ID for the student ticket.
There's also a Premium Pass at ¥12,000 for anyone aged 4 and over. It doesn't specify an admission time and gives priority entry. At more than three times the standard adult price, it's buying queue position and flexibility rather than a different experience.
Booking: What You Need to Know
Tickets are not sold on site. The official FAQ states this plainly, so there is no walk-up option — you book online or you don't get in.
Tickets are released month by month. As of our check, tickets for November were announced as going on sale from late August. If your travel dates are further out than the current release window, you may simply have to wait for your month to open.
If your plans shift, tickets bought through the official ticket store can be changed up to three times, no later than two hours before your admission time. For example, a 10:00–10:30 slot can be changed until 08:00. Tickets bought through travel agencies or convenience stores have to be handled by that seller instead.
Because there is no door to walk up to, you are choosing a seller as well as a slot. The official ticket store is the most direct route and the only one that carries the change policy above; authorised resellers such as Klook and GetYourGuide list the same admission ticket. Prices appear in different currencies depending on where you buy, so convert them on the day you book rather than comparing the numbers as printed.
Entry with a resold ticket is not permitted.
Hours and Closed Days
The museum runs 8:00 to 22:00, with last entry one hour before closing — so 21:00 is the final admission. That's a long day, and the early opening is genuinely useful if you want to pair it with something else in Tokyo.
Two things inside the venue keep different hours:
- Living Art Store & Sketch Factory: 8:30–22:00
- Vegan Ramen UZU Tokyo: 10:30–21:30 (light meals and drinks only from 10:30–11:00; last ramen order 30 minutes before closing)
The restaurant is only accessible after you've entered the museum, and you can't go in before the admission time on your ticket.
Closed days are Wednesday 5 August, Thursday 3 September, and Thursday 1 October. Unlike some Tokyo museums these aren't all the same weekday, so check the specific date rather than assuming a pattern.
If you arrive later than your admission time, you can still enter the same day during opening hours — ask staff at the venue. Last admission still applies.
Getting There
The museum is a one-minute walk from the North exit of Shin-Toyosu Station on the Yurikamome line. That's about as easy as Tokyo access gets.
One current caveat from the official site: the To-05-2 Toei Bus route from Tokyo Station, Ginza and Tsukiji to Shin-Toyosu is experiencing heavy congestion, and the museum is advising visitors to use other public transport. Take the Yurikamome. There is no visitor car park.
