teamLab Borderless Tickets: Prices, Hours & Booking

At teamLab Borderless in Azabudai Hills, the price you pay depends on when you go. Adult ticket prices change with the date and time slot: on the five open dates we checked on the official ticket site, between 27 October and 29 December 2026, adult slots ran from ¥4,600 to ¥5,800. This guide covers what a ticket costs, when the museum opens and closes, which days it shuts entirely, and what to check before you book.

Why Book Ahead

With the Entrance Pass, entry is by date-and-time-specific ticket, so you are picking a slot, not just a day. Tickets are sold online on a rolling basis, and the price attached to each slot changes. That means the decision isn't only "which day am I free" — it's "which slot do I want to pay for."

The official site also states that tickets are date and time-specific and may sell out, so a slot you want is not guaranteed to still be there later.

What a Ticket Costs

Adult admission (18 and over) is not a single number. It is set by the date and time slot you choose. The official price table lists adults from ¥3,400 (its FAQ says from ¥3,600), and on the five open dates we checked on the ticket site — 27 and 31 October, 4 and 10 November and 29 December 2026 — adult slots ran from ¥4,600 to ¥5,800. Under-18 pricing is fixed: ¥2,800 for ages 13–17, ¥1,500 for ages 4–12, and free for age 3 and under. Tickets for holders of a disability certificate, plus up to one accompanying person, are also priced by date: ¥1,700 on the price table, and ¥2,300 to ¥2,900 on the dates we checked.

For a family of four — two adults plus two children aged 4–12 — the adult half alone differed by up to ¥2,400 between the cheapest and dearest slots we saw.

Two Ticket Types Worth Knowing

The Entrance Pass specifies your admission time. There is also a Flexible Pass at ¥12,000 for adults and children alike. It fixes the date but not the time — you turn up when you want, up to the last entry time, and join the entry line.

At ¥12,000, the Flexible Pass costs more than double the adult Entrance Pass prices we saw on the five dates we checked (¥4,600–¥5,800). What it buys is the choice of arrival time on that date: the official ticket page lists it as "Admission time is not specified".

Opening Hours

Standard hours are 8:30 to 21:00, with last entry one hour before closing. Some dates differ:

• Closes at 22:00: in October the 1st–2nd, 5th–9th, 12th–16th, 19th, 21st–23rd and 26th–30th; in November the 2nd, 5th, 6th, 9th, 12th and 13th; and 26–30 December

Because last entry is one hour before closing, a 22:00 close means you can still go in at 21:00 — useful if you are fitting it in after dinner.

Late closing applies on some days, not all, so check your specific date rather than assuming.

Days It's Closed

The museum is closed on Tuesday 24 November and Tuesday 8 December. There's no point building an itinerary around a date the doors don't open, so check this list against your travel dates before booking anything else in the area.

Buying Your Ticket

Tickets are sold through the official ticketing website and KLOOK. The official site's own notes are not fully consistent about buying at the venue: the price table mentions a ¥200 surcharge for on-site purchase, while the purchasing notes say tickets are not available at the venue, and the FAQ says on-site purchase is possible at a different price if the slot hasn't sold out.

The safe read is simple: book online in advance and don't plan around walking up.

Either route books the same admission. The official store is the more direct one, and the only one that carries the change policy described below; if you would rather book in your own currency, KLOOK's listing for teamLab Borderless prices the same ticket in US dollars, which is worth converting on the day you book rather than comparing as printed.

Entrance Passes bought directly from the official ticketing site can have their date and time changed up to three times, no later than two hours before the reserved entry time. Tickets generally can't be cancelled once purchased.

The Current Special Exhibit

The official page says a special exhibition, "On the Asymmetry of the Universe," is currently being held, and gives no end date. If seeing it matters to you, check the official page for your date before you book.

Getting There

The museum is in Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza B, on level B1. The two closest stations are Kamiyacho on the Hibiya Line, two minutes from Exit 5, and Roppongi-itchome on the Namboku Line, six minutes from Exit 4. Both connect to the building through an underground passage, so you don't need to come up to street level. There is no museum car park.

Note that this is the Azabudai Hills location. teamLab runs more than one venue in Tokyo, so make sure the ticket you're buying matches the address above.

Booking Checklist

Before you pay:

• Confirm your date isn't a closed Tuesday (24 Nov, 8 Dec)
• Check whether your date closes at 22:00 rather than 21:00
• Compare adult prices across a few slots — we saw ¥4,600–¥5,800
• Book online in advance rather than relying on buying at the venue
• Count backwards from closing time: last entry is one hour before
• If you want the special exhibit, check the official page for your date
