NARUTO & BORUTO Shinobi-zato: What Gets You There, and What Doesn’t

Naruto has a park in Japan. It is not in Tokyo, and getting there is a ferry or a bus over a bridge to an island in the Seto Inland Sea.

Awaji Island has no railway. The line that once ran there closed in 1966, and when the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge opened in 1998 it carried road traffic only — the rail deck was dropped from the plan in 1985. So every route in from Kobe, Osaka or Kansai Airport ends on a bus or a boat.

This guide covers what the tickets get you, how the routes compare, and what the official page leaves out.

Getting There Is the Real Decision

From Sannomiya in Kobe, the fastest option is a direct highway bus: 45 minutes, with two direct services a day. A slower route changes at Maiko Station, with up to five round trips a day and a total time of 30–45 minutes.

From Osaka, a direct highway bus runs three round trips a day: 1.5 hours from Umeda, 1 hour 45 minutes from Namba. A ferry route also exists — train to Akashi, then ferry to Iwaya Port — at 1.5 hours or more.

From Kansai Airport, the official page points to a highway bus of about 3 hours, either direct or changing at Shin-Kobe.

By car, it's about an hour from Osaka and 30 minutes from Kobe, exiting at Awaji Interchange on the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway — three minutes from the park gate. Three car parks (A, E and F) serve different parts of the site.

None of these routes come with a price on the official page. Bus operators named include JR Bus Kansai, Honshi Kaikyo Bus, Awaji Kotsu, Shinki Bus and Minato Kanko Bus — the fares are set by each company, and Nijigen no Mori's own site doesn't quote them. Check the operator's own page for your date before you commit to a route.

What a Ticket Actually Gets You

Five ticket tiers cover Shinobi-zato itself, priced in a range that moves with the season. Adult prices, checked 25 August 2026:

Children (5–11) pay a lower rate on every tier; children under 5 enter free, and children under 2 cannot take the Heavenly Scroll attraction. Elementary-age children need a paying adult with them throughout.

The two headline attractions are the Heavenly Scroll— an eleven-metre 3D maze behind the Hokage Rock, about 60 minutes — and the Earth Scroll, a seal-collecting course through the grounds, about 30 minutes. A separate mystery-solving experience, the Earth Scroll – Side Story, runs about 60 minutes and carries no age limit.

Tickets are sold online through Asoview, and the site recommends buying ahead. Same-day tickets are available at the gate, subject to availability.

What we could not find a total for: the official page gives times per attraction, not a combined visit length. Between the two core attractions alone, that's roughly 90 minutes — before add-on missions, the shop or the restaurant.

Is It Worth the Trip

Put the two numbers next to each other, because the official site never does.

The two core attractions run 90 minutes between them. From Osaka, getting there and back is three hours. From Sannomiya in Kobe it's an hour and a half each way at worst, forty-five minutes at best — so roughly ninety minutes to three hours of travel for ninety minutes inside.

From Osaka, the journey is twice the visit. From Kobe, it's about even.

That is the shape of the decision, and it doesn't have one answer. The premium tickets add missions, and the projection mapping on the Hokage Rock only runs after dusk, so an evening visit is a longer visit. If you are on Awaji anyway, that is a different question from making the trip only for this.

There is a third option, and it changes the arithmetic rather than solving it. Hotel Grand Chariot, which Nijigen no Mori names as its official accommodation partner, runs two Naruto collaboration rooms. The Hokage's Villa is 70 square metres, from ¥50,518 per person with dinner and breakfast. Akatsuki no Mayu, the second of the two, is 75 square metres, from ¥53,543 per person on the same terms. Both sleep one to four, both include a Light ticket to Shinobi-zato for everyone staying, and neither page says how many of these rooms exist.

Set that against a Light ticket on its own, at ¥3,300–4,100. These rooms are not a cheaper way into the park — they cost roughly twelve to sixteen times the ticket they include, depending on the season. They are a different decision. What they remove is the return journey, which from Osaka is the half of the day this guide keeps pointing at.

The hotel has English pages and a Book online button. We have not taken a booking through to the end, so we cannot say whether the form stays in English the whole way.

What we can't tell you is how long the queues run, or how much of the day the other five areas would fill — neither figure is published.

One Area of a Larger Park

Nijigen no Mori has six themed areas: Dragon Quest Island, the Godzilla Interception Operation, NARUTO & BORUTO Shinobi-zato, the Crayon Shin-chan Adventure Park, Attack on Titan (running through December 2026), and TOKYO SCRAMBLE.

The official site refers to a set ticket covering more than one area, sold through the same Asoview page, but doesn't spell out the price or which areas it bundles. A separate, time-limited Kansai Ten-Thank You Pass — a one-day pass for Kansai residents — was listed as on sale through September 2026.

If Shinobi-zato is the only reason you're going, the ticket table above is all you need. If you're weighing it against Godzilla or Dragon Quest Island, check the set-ticket price on the day — it isn't fixed enough to print here.

The English Page

Nijigen no Mori's English site is better than most. It runs to several pages, in five languages, and it publishes the things Japanese attraction sites usually keep on the Japanese side: every ticket tier with its price, what each tier includes, how long each attraction takes, and the bus routes in from three cities. Sanrio Puroland's English page, by comparison, says passport prices "vary depending on the day" and sends you to the Japanese calendar for the numbers.

So the gaps are worth naming precisely, because they are not the usual ones. As of 25 August 2026, three things are missing:

• Bus fares. Routes and journey times are given; prices are not. Five operators are named — JR Bus Kansai, Honshi Kaikyo Bus, Awaji Kotsu, Shinki Bus and Minato Kanko Bus — and each sets its own fare.
• Closed days. The site says hours vary by season and points to a "Today's Park Information" section. There is no fixed closed-day calendar.
• Total visit length. Only individual attraction times are given.

All three are the arithmetic you need to answer "can I fit this in, and what will the day cost." Check the operator sites and the park's own calendar for your date before you book anything.
