Harmonyland Tickets: Some Are Online Only, Some Are Gate Only
Harmonyland is Sanrio’s outdoor theme park in Kyushu. It sits in Hiji, a town in Oita Prefecture next to Beppu, on a road the park’s own address gives as Route 10, and its 35th anniversary programme began in April 2026. Hello Kitty, My Melody and the rest of the cast appear in parades and live shows; the rides are built around them, and the park describes itself as an outdoor one.
The ticket is where the channel matters. Not counting the annual passport, the park sells seven kinds of day admission, and where each one can be bought is not the same: two are sold online and nowhere else, two more are sold at the gate and nowhere else, and the official checkout is a Japanese page.
This guide covers which ticket you can actually buy, what the two printed prices mean, and where the closed days are published.

There Is No Adult Price and No Child Price
The ticket page carries one line that settles the arithmetic for a family: “Children under the age of 4 are free.”
Above that line there is nothing else. No adult band, no child band, no student rate on the standard ticket. A four-year-old and a forty-year-old pay the same: ¥3,600 on a regular day, ¥4,200 on a night-operating day. That is worth knowing before you budget, and it cuts both ways: two children under four add nothing to the bill, and a nine-year-old adds a full day ticket.
Two Numbers, and What Decides Which
The price page prints 3,600·4,200 and leaves it there. It does not say which applies when.
The answer is on the park’s own sales page, the one the official site links to for online purchases: the passport is ¥3,600 on a regular operating day and ¥4,200 on a night-operating day.
The calendar carries a legend for night-operating days and gives each date its own hours. In September 2026 three dates ran 09:00–20:00 — the 20th, 21st and 22nd. Every other open day that month ran 10:00–17:00.
So the ¥600 goes with the longer day, and you can see which kind of day yours is before you buy.
Two Tickets Are Sold Online and Nowhere Else
Two tickets are sold only online. Neither is available at the park, and both cost less than the standard one.

The official English page says it twice, once under each: “Tickets are not sold at the Harmonyland ticket office.”
A reader who turns up at the gate at two in the afternoon cannot buy the afternoon ticket there. A university student who turns up with a student card cannot buy the student ticket there either.
Two Harmonyland Discounts Work the Other Way Round
The maternity discount and the discount for people with disabilities are ¥2,600 / ¥3,200, and both are sold, in the official site’s words, “only available at the Harmony Land ticket office.” Neither can be bought online at all. Both need the original certificate — a mother and child health handbook, or one of the listed disability certificates — and the disability discount covers the holder and an accompanying person.
The birthday discount (¥3,100 / ¥3,700, in your birthday month) and the senior discount (¥2,600 / ¥3,200, 65 and over) are sold online and also need proof shown at the park.
The Site Reads in English. The Checkout Does Not.
The official site has a full English version. It is not a separate address and it is not a translation widget: the Language menu switches the same page between Japanese, English, Korean and two kinds of Chinese, and the ticket descriptions above are quoted from the English version.
Every “buy online” button on that English page leads to asoview, a Japanese ticketing site. That page is in Japanese, with no language switcher on it.
This is the same shape we found at Nijigen no Mori, where the combo ticket and the kids-only pass also sat behind asoview. The information is in English. The transaction is not.
We checked one English-language reseller, Klook, on 23 September 2026. What it sells is the standard day passport, which the gate sells too. The afternoon and student tickets, the two sold only online, were not on it.
Closed Days Are Published, by Date, in an Odd Place
The FAQ answers the closing question by pointing at a calendar: “Business hours change depending on the season. Please check the closed days and business hours on the business calendar.”
That calendar is not on a page called calendar. It is inside the events and live-show page, at /event#calendar, which is where the FAQ’s own link goes. Once you are there it is clear enough: every date carries either its hours or the words “Closed day”.
The park’s sales page lists the same closures as plain dates:
- September 2026: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17
- October 2026: 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29
- November 2026 onward: not published. The page says to check the website
Those are Wednesdays and Thursdays — but not all of them. In September the park closed on the first three Wednesday–Thursday pairs and then stayed open on Wednesday the 23rd, Thursday the 24th and Wednesday the 30th. In October every Wednesday and Thursday is closed.
Klook states the rule as a rule. Its product page says the park is “Closed on Wednesday and Thursday” with a short list of holiday exceptions. The park’s own calendar for September 2026 shows it open on three of those days. We have not found a statement from the park that sets a general weekly rule; what the park publishes is a list of dates.
If your date is a Wednesday or a Thursday, the calendar is the thing to open.
Cancelling
The park’s own online sales page lets you cancel yourself until 16:00 on the day you are going, and charges 100% from 16:00 onward. That page is in Japanese.
Klook, checked on 23 September 2026, states “No cancellations, or refunds can be made” on its Harmonyland ticket. That page is in English.

Before You Go
Three things here move: the prices by day type, the closed days, and which discounts are sold where. The figures above are the ones published on 23 September 2026. November’s closures had not been published at all when we checked, so a trip after October needs the calendar opened again.
Last entry is one hour before closing on every operating day, and re-entry is allowed up to that same point if you tell the staff at the gate.
