COMITIA 158 at Tokyo Big Sight: How to Get In on 13 December 2026

COMITIA 158 is on Sunday 13 December 2026, 11:00–16:00, in East Halls 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 of Tokyo Big Sight. You get in by showing the event’s catalog, Tia’s Magazine (ティアズマガジン), one copy each, which you buy: 1,400 yen at bookstores from 15 November 2026, or 1,500 yen at the venue on the day. Children aged 12 and under do not need one and get in free.

Only original works are sold at COMITIA. The organiser’s English page for visitors says secondary works of copyrighted material (fan art, fanzines, fan fiction and parodies) may not be sold there, and that cosplay is not allowed. That page is its guide for COMITIA147, held in February 2024, and it says the contents differ each time. The date, halls, catalog price and shops for COMITIA 158 are on the organiser’s Japanese pages.

This guide covers getting in with the catalog, buying it, the rules on cosplay, photos and video, paying at the tables and the trains to Tokyo Big Sight.

Quick Facts

Getting In to COMITIA 158: The Catalog Is the Ticket

Show your copy of Tia’s Magazine 158 to the staff at the entrance. The organiser’s visitor guide (一般参加の手引き), in Japanese, says the catalog takes the place of an entry fee and is your entry pass, and that you show it again when you go back in.

The guide says a catalog with only the cover cut out, or one taken apart, is not valid for entry, so carry the whole book. If you forget it, you buy another on the day.

The FAQ, in Japanese, says that if the catalogs for sale on the day sell out, a “general entry ticket” (一般参加用入場チケット) is sold on its own, and that people who bought the catalog in advance still get in by showing it. It adds that from 15:00, everyone gets in free, whether or not the catalog has sold out.

When we checked on 20 October 2026, the visitor guide was still the edition for the previous event, COMITIA157, with that event’s halls and lines. Open it again closer to 13 December.

Buying Tia’s Magazine 158

Buy it at a bookstore from 15 November 2026 for 1,400 yen, or at the venue on 13 December for 1,500 yen. The catalog sales page, in Japanese, recommends buying in advance: it costs less than on the day, and you can go in smoothly without queuing in the venue’s Catalog Sales line.

The page lists these shops, marked as planned:

It says some branches of these chains do not carry the catalog, and asks you to contact each shop. It also says some shops may sell out soon after release. For mail order, it lists, as planned, animate, Toranoana, Melonbooks, Mandarake, Manga-oh and Alice Books, and says orders close shop by shop around a week before the event.

On the day, the catalog is sold from about 8:00 at the venue’s “Catalog Sales” counter (カタログ販売). The page says you may have to queue around opening time. The FAQ says enough stock for sale on the day is set aside, separate from the advance copies.

Each copy carries a code for the COMITIA Web Catalog, which lets you search the circles and show the floor map. The COMITIA 158 page gives the Web Catalog’s period as 14 November to 21 December 2026.

Cosplay, Photos and Video at COMITIA

Cosplay is not allowed, and filming video is not allowed. The English For Visitors page says: “Cosplay, or costume play, is not allowed.” The Japanese visitor guide says the same, and says filming and streaming video is prohibited, live commerce included.

For photos, the guide asks you to get permission first, including for a circle’s items and signs, and to keep other people out of the frame as far as you can. It asks you to take views of the hall from a distance, so no one can be identified, and not to use flash or strong lights.

The guide also says that under an ordinance, people under 18 may not buy or look at adult works.

Paying at COMITIA: Bring Small Change

Bring cash in small change. The English First time at COMITIA page says: “Basically, cash is exchanged at the venue.” It says many circles do not have much change, so 100-yen and 500-yen coins and 1,000-yen notes help, and that paying with 5,000-yen or 10,000-yen notes, which needs a lot of change, is often time consuming.

The FAQ, answering circles, says the way each circle takes payment is up to that circle.

The same English page suggests bringing ID, such as a passport, and says it may be used to check your age when you buy items with adult content.

Getting to Tokyo Big Sight

Tokyo Big Sight’s English access page gives about 3 minutes on foot from Tokyo Big Sight Station on the Yurikamome, and about 7 minutes from Kokusai-Tenjijo Station on the Rinkai Line. Its diagrams show the Rinkai Line taking 14 minutes from Osaki, a stop on the JR Yamanote, Shonan-Shinjuku and Saikyo Lines, to Kokusai-Tenjijo, and the Yurikamome taking 23 minutes from Shimbashi to Tokyo Big Sight.

The Rinkai Line’s English Access to Odaiba page says its trains run through onto the JR Saikyo Line, so you can go to Odaiba from a Saikyo Line station such as Shinjuku without changing trains, and gives about 12 minutes from Shinjuku to Osaki on the Saikyo Line, a standard time as of March 2018. Its route examples do not name Kokusai-Tenjijo; the Rinkai Line’s Kokusai-tenjijo timetable page lists trains towards Osaki and the JR Saikyo Line (Shibuya, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro).

COMITIA’s visitor guide asks you to come by public transport. It says car parks near the venue get very crowded on the day and does not recommend coming by car or motorbike. It also asks you not to arrive late at night or early in the morning.

Before You Go

Buy Tia’s Magazine 158 after it goes on sale on 15 November 2026, and keep the whole book with you on 13 December: you show it to get in and to get back in. Before the day, open the visitor guide again and check whether it has been updated for COMITIA 158. If you cannot go on 13 December, the schedule lists COMITIA159 on 14 March 2027, in West Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4.
