AGF2026 in Ikebukuro, 7 and 8 November: Tickets Still on Sale and What You Need to Get In
AGF2026, アニメイトガールズフェスティバル2026 (Animate Girls Festival, our translation), runs on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November 2026 at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The main venue needs a ticket, and the organiser says no tickets are sold there on the day. When we checked on 24 October 2026, Animate Ticket was selling the general, afternoon and evening tickets, first come, first served.
The evening ticket is a paper ticket printed at a 7-Eleven store, and it is the only AGF2026 ticket that does not use face recognition. The other tickets are e-tickets: to apply, you need a CLUB animate account and a MOALA account, with your own face photo registered in the MOALA account.
The official site is in Japanese. It describes AGF as a large Ikebukuro event that gathers “everything for otome”, from anime, manga and voice actors to otome games and cosplay. This guide covers the tickets on sale, what each one needs, the ID to bring, where to line up and the trains to Ikebukuro.

Tickets You Can Still Buy
When we checked on 24 October 2026, the general, afternoon and evening tickets were on sale, first come, first served, and Animate Ticket’s page for each showed sales open. Each sale ends when the tickets run out, and the ticket page says that if they sell out before the event, there are no sales on the day.
| General | Price: 1,800 yen | Entry starts (planned): 10:00, 11:00 or 12:00 | Sales end: 6 November 2026, 23:59 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Afternoon | Price: 1,000 yen | Entry starts (planned): 13:00 or 14:00 | Sales end: 6 November, 23:59 (for 7 November); 7 November, 23:59 (for 8 November) |
| Evening | Price: 800 yen; 1,000 yen if bought from 7 November | Entry starts (planned): 15:00 or 15:35 | Sales end: 16:00 on the day |
You cannot choose your entry time; it is printed on the ticket. The general and afternoon tickets are one per person per day, and the evening ticket page allows up to three per order. The sales pages say fees are charged on top of the ticket price but do not give the amount, and neither does Animate Ticket’s FAQ, in Japanese, which says the fee is shown under the name “delivery fee” when you buy (checked 26 October 2026); for ticket questions, AGF2026’s overview page, in Japanese, points to Animate Ticket Support.
The fast ticket, for entry from 9:00 to 10:00, was sold by lottery, with applications from 27 August to 3 September 2026. Applications for a waiting-list lottery were taken from 10 to 13 September; the ticket page says it is held only if tickets won in the first lottery are cancelled because they were not paid for.
What Each Ticket Needs
The general and afternoon tickets need two accounts when you apply; the evening ticket needs none. The ticket page says you need a CLUB animate membership to buy, and that every ticket except the evening one enters by e-ticket with face recognition, with your face photo registered in a MOALA account in advance.
CLUB animate’s terms, in Japanese, say it provides its service to users living in Japan; its FAQ, also in Japanese, explains how to verify a mobile number from outside Japan by international SMS, in some regions only, but does not say that people living outside Japan can register. MOALA’s guide, in Japanese, says an email address is needed to create an account, and we did not find a condition on where you live (checked 26 October 2026); if you live outside Japan, ask CLUB animate’s support centre through its inquiry page, in Japanese, before relying on the general or afternoon ticket, or choose the evening ticket, which needs no account.
The e-ticket guide says a MOALA account needs an email address, that no app is needed and the recommended browsers are the latest Safari on iPhone and the latest Chrome on Android, and that you must photograph your own face. The rules recommend taking the photo with the hairstyle and make-up you will wear on the day. E-tickets can be paid by credit card or at a 7-Eleven store.
The evening ticket is a paper ticket printed at a 7-Eleven store, paid at the 7-Eleven counter when you collect it, or by credit card. The ticket page says it needs no membership registration and no login, and that it is not sold at the main venue. It cannot be resold through the official resale service.
The rules ask foreign nationals to apply in the Latin alphabet, with the name as it appears on official ID, and not under an alias.
The ID to Bring
Bring your original passport: the rules list it among the IDs AGF2026 accepts. The other single IDs on the list are a driving licence, a disability certificate with photo, a residence card and a My Number Card with photo. The rules say expired IDs, copies and images are not accepted.
Staff may check ID at entry and at random inside the main venue, according to the entry guide. The rules say that anyone who cannot show valid ID when asked is refused entry, or asked to leave after entering.
On the Day: Where to Line Up
Every ticket lines up at Sunshine Plaza, on the fourth floor of the World Import Mart Building, at the reception time printed on the ticket. The entry guide says evening-ticket holders print their ticket at 7-Eleven before coming.
The entry guide also says that once you check in, you cannot leave the line until you enter, and that waiting from long before your reception time is not allowed. If you arrive after your reception time, go to the late arrivals desk in front of Ticket Information; you enter after everyone in your time slot.
The FAQ says the main venue has no coin lockers or bag storage, and points to lockers in and around Sunshine City. It also says that, for safety, suitcases and other large or wheeled bags may not be brought in, apart from walking aids, oxygen equipment and the like. It says re-entry is valid on the same day only, with your wristband shown and face recognition at each area’s entrance. It does not say how this applies to the evening ticket, which does not use face recognition, and we did not find it on the ticket page or the entry guide (checked 26 October 2026); the organiser answers questions by email and in Japanese only, through the inquiry desk on its overview page, which is in Japanese.
Getting to Sunshine City
From Ikebukuro Station, Exit 35 is about 8 minutes on foot, and from Higashi-Ikebukuro Station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, Exits 6 and 7 are about 3 minutes through an underground passage. The access page gives both, and says the times are to the entrance of Sunshine City and may be longer when the roads are busy.

- What this is
- Sunshine City is in Ikebukuro. If you want to stay within walking distance of the venue, this opens a hotel search for the Ikebukuro area, so you can set your own dates. We have not stayed at any of these. We are not recommending a hotel — we are pointing you at the list.
Before You Go
Buy your ticket on Animate Ticket before you go, because none are sold at the venue. If you buy the evening ticket, print it at a 7-Eleven store before you come. Bring your original passport, and check the reception time on your ticket.
